Changing your brake pads is very easy, first set the e-brake and loosen up your tire lug nuts (do one side at a time), then jack up your car and remove the wheel. using a socket set, remove the caliper and there should be a couple of retaining pins, remove them from the caliper as well. The pads should come right out, replace with the new ones from any auto parts store. put the retaining pins back in and replace the caliper and wheel. Thats it.

Tips: You might want to have a brake caliper squeezer thingie, like $5 at the parts store, this helps squeeze the brake piston back so the new pad will fit in. Also a piece of rope or bungee chord will help hold the caliper so it is not dangeling from the brake line, make sure you do not bend the brake line (if it is the solid type). Usually the front pads wear out faster than the rear.

If you don't know the steps, then go buy a manual or check one out from the library and read up on it. To be honest, either find a friend that knows what "he" is doing and learn from the experience, or take it to a shop and have them do it. You don't want to be messing around with brakes. It is not a forgivable experience if you make a mistake.
