I know they do this with food, but what about water. Would a mom hamster fill her cheeks full of water to bring to her babies, but drop a lot to make the nest wet? because even on the bottom layer where there is a plastic thing upfloor and a small space for them to go down a floor to the nest so water couln't seep through from a waterbottle, but the nesting is wet! It isn't pee!

It's possible but from what you say about the imperfect carrying of stuff, I would say that your hamster is afflicted with hemorrhoids. Your vet could cauterize them or you could start a diet free of roughage (for the hamster, not for you)

Hamsters like to pack their cheeks full of food and store it where they sleep usually, because they will wake during the daytime, and since they are nocturnal the light hurts their eyes so if it is next to them then they wont have to move from their sleeping area. Syrian / Teddy bear hamsters are more likely to do this than other hamsters.

yes they fill there cheeks to save it for later. Also it is possible for them to use water but it sounds weird. you might want to check with the vet.
