You youngsters will have to look that up.
It was on when TV was a brand new invention. It was so popular that some businesses actually closed when it was on since there were no customers - everyone went home to watch it. Looking back, it wasn't that much of a show. But then again at the time people were still trying to figure out what to do with the newfangled TV medium. This show led the way, and was the first gateway drug leading towards today's total TV addiction.

While "I Love Lucy" set the high water mark for out-n-out comedy, and no one's gonna touch that show,
I would also include "All in The Family", because Archie Bunker pushed wide the bounds formerly unacceptable in TV shows.
But others would need to be "Star Trek", because it was futuristic for the 1960s, and today, we use alot of that sci-fi technology; and even "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In".
But my choice, most influential, is "All In the Family".
