You know like the states of West virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and all the others around there.

I usually find them very conservative, friendly, but not too trusting to outsiders.
But that's just in my experience.

I lived in Louisville, KY for over 5 yrs but it's so urban I really wouldn't categorize the people there as Appalachian. However I've been living in WV for over a year and work closely with the public. My general impression is that they are very nice but very conservative.

They are the best people I have met. I was married to one. They aren't all dirty, and if they have bad teeth is because our wonderful government have made it so easy to get health and dental care. No money, no treatment. We should be helping our own, instead of helping other countries.
