to some extent, we all have to make difficult decisions, think about their ramifications. we all hold some ethics, morality in our conciousness.

I think you already know the answer to your question...No, I believe as Socrates & Plato did ; not all have the same capacities or are made up of the same metal. I love the fact that my auto mechanic isn't a philosopher, or my hair dresser or the butcher who I buy meat from. each is perfect in the role they exist in. i beleive when we can accept that ; we are truely "able" to respect all men as our brothers, ( and women as our sisters !).
