I lined up for 3 hours for the wii in canada and couldn't get one. Now they don't know when they will come in. My kids really really want one for christmas.Any helpful ideas on how to get one before the holidays?

Well, I advise you to break the news to them and tell them they won't get one for Christmas because they are all sold out at the moment. Try back in January or August. Summer is best.

Well, it is out in NA, SA, and JP, but there are very few quantities as the total of 6 million Wii's are avliable for purchase.
Most Americans down here can't get one either.
But its much better than PS3, which have only 600,000 for the world.
Here's an upcoming list for country releases:
NA, SA = Nov. 19
Japan = Dec. 2
Australia, Italy, Southeast Asia = Dec. 7
Europe = Dec. 8
Spain = Dec. 9
