Now he's out on the tiles all the time. In the daytime he just lies around all the time, but come evening and he's up cutting a rug and out of the door. This is turning me into a wreck and i feel i'm in at the deep end. Should i pile on the pressure and walk all over him, or accept that he's a bit of a tiger and let him go with the flow?

Sounds to me like he is a cross bred shark and these do tend to be the 'quiet on the outside, wild on the inside' rogue sharks. As you state, he may well be a bit of a tiger! I don't keep sharks myself but I can tell you that my carpet frogs keep on popping out and getting underfoot unexpectedly!

Well, you've floored me with that question. But I'd say the best course of action would be to grab a hammer, head down to their local hang out (but keep your distance for a while, so you can fnd out if he's really got something to be gillty about) and then jump right in - wave the hammer about (shore, it might scare some others, but who cares) and scare them right out of the plaice. I bet you'll have a whale of a time too. I think that should do it, but let me know how it goes.

He's using you as a doormat, no wonder your head is swimming. Tear him off a strip and lay some ground rules; tell him to stop wiping the floor with you. It's not your fault he's a toothless wonder that's just found out his girlfriend's a maneater.
