I am a up in comming Rap artist. that wants to kno how to make CD covers like the ones that you c in the stores on cd's. i already have my album coming out and everything is done, i jus want to kno how to do em or kno what i need to do em cuz i want to play around with it.

I used to be in the publishing business and quickly learned that great art is done by good artists who take the time to really learn software like Photoshop and Illustrator. It always amazed me that I could go to one of our Photoshop artists, explain what I wanted and have them turn out a beautiful-looking graphic in minutes.

You need to put together a few thoughts and take it to a good artist who is skilled with an art software package such as Illustrator or Freehand. Work with them to put your vision down on the CD cover. It will cost you a few bucks, although probably not more than $400 to find someone who shares your vision and can translate your thoughts into art. However, you will have to participate and you have to be serious about it. You can't just drop some thoughts on the person, disappear for two weeks and then show up and criticize. If you want good work that represents your vision, you will have to contribute frequently.
