should do about Iran and the growing nuclear threat?
Since they have threatened to wipe Isrel off the map, does Israel have a right to do a pre-emptive strike, or must Israel wait to be nuked first?

I am particularly interested to hear solutions from liberals

Here are a few quotes from the man in Iran...
"They are angry with our nation. But we tell them 'so be it and DIE from this anger'. Rest assured that if you do not respond to the divine call, YOU WILL DIE soon and vanish from the face of the earth," he said.

"Thank to God's help, we have gone all the way and are only one step away from the zenith.

"We hope to have THE BIG NUCLEAR CELEBRATION by the end of the year (March 2007)," Ahmadinejad said, echoing comments he has made on numerous occasions in recent months.

We need to find a way to enact regime change in Iran. One of the unfortunate fall outs of the Iraq war going so poorly is it will be difficult to get support for military action to depose Ahmadinijad. We should certainly agreesively support opposition groups in Iran and help them rise up and overthrow the current government.

I think Israel has shown great restraint already, but I don't think they should wait until they're nuked to take action against Iran. Obviously if they wait until that happens, they've waited too long. It's a shame. There is not simple answer the this. No answer that isn't likely to result in significant loss of life.

This is just my personal opinion okay! I think the " West" should form an union with other countries in the regions ( such as Arabs, Syria etc) to against Iran's movement , put strong restrictment on economic and political isolation.
The "West" should seek advice from the region experts ( especially religious leaders). When those religious leaders speak up in that region, there would be more people listen.

I dont think Israel has the right to do a preemptive strike, it can ask for international force to pressure on Iran, but not attack Iran by itself. Look what happened in Lebanon. It only gonna bring up more hatred toward Israel.

I think that Iran is a very real and potentially catastrophic threat to the rest of world. Unfortunately, this administration continues to refuse to have any contact whatsoever with the Iranian government. This only fuels anti-American sentiment and makes the chance for a diplomatic solution to the nuclear issue an impossibility.

No, because there are no laws in Christianity that are punishable by death. God will judge everyone when we stand before Him. But no, we shouldn't apply God's laws in the U.S. because we are not a dictatorship. We live in a free society, and everyone is free to believe (or not believe) how they want.

Iran is not a threat and never has been. I'm all for global nuclear disarmament. The true test of justice and peace however is that if they shouldn't have it, then why do we have it and why do we provide it to other countries? Every time we arm anyone it comes back to bite us. We made Bin Loud mouth who he is and called him a freedom fighter when he used to fight the soviets in Afghanistan. We need to stop and realize we're not good judges of character and mind our own business. We used to be allies with Saddam too!!! Also look at our buddies Saudi Arabia! Where were most of the 911 terrorists from again? Oh yeah, there's too much oil money being made to mention that little arrangement!

They have a right to have nukes. Israel has about fifty nukes.we shouldn't try to control the whole damn world.if the Iranians nuke someone they will be nuked back.they have a right to there own traditions and culture.and have a right to dislike Israel, because of there barbarity. I dislike Israel. Most of the Jewish people in Israel are evil. and we support there evil ways.there atrocities on innocents or horrible, half a million dead Innocent Iraqis so far.that we have killed.and because of our actions. I do not support the feds in this.Yes were going to have a war of civilizations soon. May God Bless the United States.

here is a liberal response , the republican have involved the usa in another Vietnam, in an unjust and immoral war, that has had the effect of promoting terrorism and removing and anti extremist Islamic regime and possible created an Iranian vassal state.
Iran will not nuke Israel simply because the third most holy Islamic site is in Jerusalem, and that it will kill all the Palestinians as well as the Jews

He means by following God, the West shouldn't attack someone due to paranoia and not get involved - like Bush has done already to Iraq.

Ignoring Iran and not interfering will result with nothing.
