Actually it's not very small considering the size of the earth. Along with our adapting abilities we outta be able to double easily from the 6.5 billion mark we hit this year. In the year 2028 we will hit 8 billion. With that rate of grown we outta be able to hit 50 billion rather easily. Making the 1/P fraction small today comparatively.

It is indeed a very small fraction being (at the time of writing this post) 1 / 6,561,608,727 and getting smaller by the second.
