Bitter apple spray works really well. Many pet stores sell stuff to spray on your hands to keep ferrets from nipping - you could spray that on the cabinets. I agree, though, this kind of chewing behavior is not common in ferrets. They like to get into stuff but don't usually just chew stuff for no reason. Try giving them some extra/new toys to play with instead. Have you checked to make sure there isn't something in your cabinets they're trying to get to?

You can try bitter apple spray. It is commonly used for dogs and many people use it on thier ferrets.
Why are they chewing the cabinets? My ferrets have never shown chewing behaviours like that! Maybe you should block them from that room?

I don't think this is a problem you can solve yourself.
My Aunt Bertha Lee had the same problem. Once ferrets infest your house, it's too late for half measures. Professionals have the required tools, things like cattle prods, blasting caps, noxious gases (as though the ferrets don't emit a noxious enough gas!!), and other devices and methods Johnny and Prudence Homemaker simply don't have access to. Have you considered just moving out and abandoning your house to the ferrets??

I put Dave's insanity sauce on the corners of my furniture, because my dog was chewing them. It worked very well, he won't touch them now. It is a hot sauce and i just but a tiny dab on.
