As a life-long Trojans fan, I would like to say that I don't believe that it's his fault in USC not going to the title game. He has a lot of inexperienced players on the field. Look at the running back position 2 true freshmen and Chauncey Washington who has been injured for a good portion of his career at SC. It's difficult to produce the same results without the likes of Matt Leinart, reggie Bush, and LenDale White. Booty is a good quarterback, he would have been a starter his freshman year at many other D-1 programs. I just believe that it has more to do with the personnel that the offense has. Going 10-2 and winning a fifth straight Pac-10 title is a pretty good year for just about anyone. But as we have been spoiled with the recent success, we should also remember that EVERY school goes through it's ups and downs because of player changes every year. Lane Kiffin might not be Norm Chow, but he is a good offensive coordinator and he should stay there.

winning or losing a football game takes a lot of things working together, not just the efforts of one person (player or coach).
kiffin is pretty young, and i'm sure there was some contribution there. but what about...
1. ucla's defenisive intensity?
2. john david booty not stepping up as a leader?
3. penalties committed by usc's offensive line

No.
UCLA had a gameplan and it worked. Booty was rattled, plain and simple.
10-2 for the losses they had on offense, is not too shabby. And talk about injuries!
USC fans had their expectations too high. A first year starter at QB, with no Justice or Reggie Bush? Kiffin's fine.
For once, the whole staff got outcoached. It happens.

No it is not Kiffin's fault. It is jon david BOOTY's fault. Lack of talent at the quarterback position in a legendary program can be the end all (UT). The Trojans will be back in national title contention next year, because the running back by committee situation will be solved and the defense will be dramatically improved because of the young talent.

The poor peformance by the USC players is to blame. The best game plan can't overcome that many false start penalties.

Nuh it ain't his fault at all. Maybe some questionable play calling but mostly this was just bad luck. SC didn't show up.They were thinking about the NC game already.
If I had to pick one guy to blame then it's Pete Carroll for not preparing his players well mentally. If you are from L.A. then you would know Pete was acting like they were going to play a pop warner team or something during that week.
SC dropped the ball on this one.

NO he's not to blame. It's kind of good that they lost because I like USC and I like Ohio State and I wouldn't want them to play each other. Now since they are not playing each other they both will win their championship game
