If you are going to be driving...
Consider the cost per vehicles fuel, u-haul cost, motel (probably one night). Best way to make sure you are getting fair gas mileage is taking the miles total and multiplying by .35 cents My average for your trip is = $511 for gas alone. Aprx. $1,500 for the u-haul. Aprx. $40.00 for the motel 6.
Not including food. I left the links for you to check it out and plug in your own specific info.

As for flying and shipping your things...
The second set of links have an estimate of how much it would cost just to ship your things alone and then you fly over. If you do not have a vehicle then it is a plus, but if you do, then you can give your employer your cost of gas for driving so you will not have to worry about u-haul.
Cost for flight Aprx. per person $400
Cost for shipping Aprx. $2,900

Well I hope this helps, the cost for taking a train is moreso costly, I did not want to include that. If I was going to give your boss a round number for the cost of moving, I would say about $4,500. Just to be on the safe side. May God bless you in your travels and your new life journey.

Depends on what you mean exactly. Do you mean you will hire a moving company to move your belongings and then drive or fly down? Do you plan to rent a uhaul instead? Do you plan on renting or buying in Texas? All of these factor in to the answer. That's a lllllooonnnggg drive so it's not real cheap. Ask a moving company to come and give you a quote and go from there, even if you do decide to haul it yourself.

If you're driving, depending on what area of Texas you're coming to either plan on one or two nites in a hotel. My parents are in NW Indiana, and I now live in San Antonio. It's about 1275 miles each way. Alone, I drive straight through, but with family, I stop at my aunt's house in Dallas and again just before Illinois. My girls love to swim at the Holiday Inn pools!!!!!

You will love Texas, but you also will miss having seasons.

Bring some Pizza with you - it's scarce here.
