ok, so i started having discharge in about 5th grade, and it worried me what it was, but i never said anything, thinking it would be going away soon. well i've had it ever since, and it will not go away!i am now in 8th grade, and it's worse then ever. i never have bad itchyness, or redness, it's always just bad discharge. i don't really want to see a doctor, because it's pretty embarresing, but i don't know how to make it go away! i read some things about it, and they say it's easy to get rid of, and they're common. so, how do you get rid of them?!

You really must go to a doctor because a lot of things can look like a yeast infection but actually be something else. I have had yeast infections before but now I have something called Lichens Sclerosus and I couldn't tell the difference.

Find a female doctor and don't worry about it, she's seen it all before and much much worse! You really need to get treated, for your future health, it's not worth the risk just for the sake of being embarrassed.

Hun, let me tell you, your little story there sounds like my own. I 'dealt' with it for a very long time, and when I finally got fed up and decided to see a doctor, I felt so disapointed that I spent so long in discomfort.

There is nothing AT ALL to be embarrased of. Go search the net for the percentage of women who experience yeast infections. Approaching a gynocologist with a yeast infection is like approching a family doctor with a tiny flu. They will not care for anything more than to help you get rid of it. It happens to almost everyone! It isn't as though you have and STD like genital herpes or something. This is a common problem, that you personally had nothing to do with. It just happens, and doctors know that. This is simply the result of an overgroth of yeast cells that are always in your body anyways, which I'm sure you already know since you say you've been reading.

It will take 2 - 7 days to get rid of it!

For future reference, a few pointers to keep them away - don't eat too much sweets, your chances of infection increases when your blood sugar is always high. Eat yogurt regularly, if you can. Make sure your underwear is always dry when you put them on...and that they are always breathable.
(These are preventative measures, they'll do nothing for you after the fact)

But make an appointment on Monday! If you don't have a gynocologist yet, just ask you family docor to refer you. They wont hesitate to do it. If you family doctor deals with gynocology, even better.

Never be ashamed to approach doctors sweetie. That's what they are there for. And chances are they've seen things 1000 times crazier that what you want to show them.

Ok young lady you should really see a women doctor for this just to make sure you don't have a serious medical condition but in the mean time try this for a period of 2 to 3 weeks stop eating anything made from grains, corn, processes sugar and potatoes and peanuts-those are the foods that cause yeast problems/symptoms. You need to do some exercise each day-make sure you sweat-that will help remove TOXINS your body that could possibly be making this problems. Get on probiotics please!!!! If you ever have been on antibiotics that could be where this problems started. Change your diet change your life.
Good luck

If it is yeast, you can get some over the counter cream at any drug store or Walmart, etc. If it is bacteria, these creams won't help. They just came out with something new on the market that will tell you weather or not it is yeast or bacteria. This can probably be found in the same section of the store. To my knowledge the bacteria cream can only be gotten with a prescription. Go see a doctor. If you cannot afford one, go to a free clinic.
