lol. all new borns do is cry. They cry when theyre not sleeping, or eating.

Although sometimes they cry while eating, and just about always while pooping.

Those are all their major activities. Crying and sleeping being the biggest.

Its normal.

It's probably colic... our son had that for the first 2 and a half months. :( Crying and crying and crying no matter what you try... here are some things that sometimes help....

White noise- turn tv on a station that doesn't work, and turn volume up.
Car rides- one time that didn't help, and it usually always does!
Rocking, patting bottom, standing and rocking or bouncing, singing, music
Pacifier- sometimes that would help, but we got him off of it by 4 months because he really only needed it to go to sleep.
Vibrating chairs- didn't really help, sometimes did a little
Swings- same as vibrating chair
Baths- well the sponge baths since she's a new born

That's about all I have for you... it's very hard, just know it won't last forever. So when changing diaper, feeding doesn't work, try the above, and do it in the same order every time.... so you know you've covered everything. That's all the doctors really told us to do for it.

Me and my wife have a newborn baby. The best gift we got is the DVD called "The happiest baby on the block". It shows you how to calm your baby. It is a miracle!

Basically you 1st swaddle the baby tightly,
then turn the baby on its side,
then loudly ssshhhhh! in its ear.
then lightly jiggle the baby while sssshhhhing.

Watching the DVD is the best way to learn. The guys shows you exactly what to do. Works every time except when she is hungry or needs a diaper change.

Make sure to burp your baby for a good 3-4 minutes after each feeding too. My Mom said she would roll me on my stomach over her shoulder or knee to massage my stomach and aid in digestion and passing gas.

There are so many things it could be.
Are you breastfeeding? If so, watch the spices / onions / cabbage, she might have a tummy problem with them.
Bottle Feeding - she might have colic - try Good Start Formula.
Is she cold / hot?
Is she lonesome?
Are her bowel movements normal or hard little rocks? If they are hard, she has pain going poop. Add water to her diet.
You are just going to have to figure out what she is crying about. When does she stop? Try and associate that with the crying.

Are you feeling stressed and overwhelmed? Babies pick up on our emotions. The answer you got listing alot of symptoms is great, and if it's none of those, she might be picking up on your anxiety. Try taking a deep breath, and just laying down with her. Oh, and that other woman was right about feeding on demand. That's what I did with my son, and he is always dead average in the growth charts.

Babies cry!
It's their only way of telling parents there's something not quite right.

Check to see if she is:
-wet
-dirty
-cold
-hot
-hungry
-uncomfortable
or if she needs burping.

Wrap her up in a blanket, this is known as swaddling, which gives baby the nice protected 'in the womb' sensation. If you don't know how to do this, your health visitor can show you.

Congratulations on your baby, and good luck with motherhood!

Hello,

He/She is right. Nothing is wrong. Your baby girl is either tired, hungry, has a dirty diaper, teething or wants your love.

You can always feel if she has a fever and put a thermometer under her armpit to see where her temp is.

Maybe she has belly aches. With you at her side, you can rest her on her stomach and pat her bottom. She may be gassy.

Hope this helps you.................. : - O

she probably has colic....bouts of inconsoable crying. My first had it. There isn't much you can do except make sure you've checked diaper and have fed her. Try massaging her belly, swaddling her, rocking her, bouncing. put her in the stroller and push her around the house, take her for a car ride. put her in the car seat and place on top of washing machine.

Try to take a walk and sing a soft song to her. Smile at her and praise her voice "what a lovely voice you have.."
Only do it after you have check her diapers-ok, she already breastfeed and put little oitment on her stomach( in case if she got stomachache)
