i had a bath and washed myself. i aslo wore a skirt so it would be easier. Just relax when ur gettin it done cos it does feel a little uncomfortable and to tell ya the truth it almost felt like the nurse was gonna rip me open with the speculum(it is used to hold the vagina open so the doc can see your cervix more clearly). Make sure they use the plastic ones(speculum) cos the metal feels more uncomfortable and cold .They just get a lil scrapin on the cervix with what looks like a miniature bottle brush, didnt really hurt though. I also freaked out about my results, i was scared about reciving them, but my results came back clear.

I always bathe for mine, but to be honest, that is personal choice. I always assume the doc would appreciate me being clean. However, that being said, do NOT douche in any way shape or form. Mild soap and water around the outter area is the best method for cleaning that part of yourself before hand.

There is nothing you can really prepare for. It will be a little uncomfortable, especially for your first time. But the more you do over the years, the easier it gets trust me. It is a fairly quick procedure. Just show up and the doctor does the rest.

Bathe and clean your self real good.
Wear clean clothes.
Wear clean socks because you will be able to keep them on. It will help keep your feet warm.

Its not a big deal. Dont worry about it. Just make sure you are really clean and relax and it will be over in no time. Dont wear hose, wear socks. If your feet are prone to smelling, then just leave your shoes on.

Do the doctor a favor and be clean. Relax and it's over before you know it. And I congratulate you for doing this. It should be done yearly and well worth the bother.
