You can get intouch with you local community centre, they often organise a small event that you can take toys that your children have grown out of and they sell them for a small price and the money goes to a charity and people who can't afford very much have the chance of getting some toys that they might not be able to get.
My local community centre does this and it is a huge success.
You are then giving back to the community, helping other people and a charity.

There are alot of places that help low-income mothers with daycare, that are on limited budgets and would gladly accept used toys. Also, try church nurseries, or keep an ear out for families who may have lost all they had due to a disaster, such as a fire. If they have small children, I'm sure they would deeply appreciate their children getting some toys to play with, and the children would feel as if they are getting something new!

A car boot sale is a good place for this type of thing as it would normally be a child who will fall in love with the teddy bear etc. and will be pleading with their parents to buy it for them. The best part of it is that you see all this happen, and when that child walks off cuddling their new toy - it is really pleasing knowing that the toy has rejuventated itself and will be going somewhere better than the box in the attic.

Children's ward of your local hospital. I'm surrounded by people you can't be bothered to recycle or take items to a charity shop. Its no hard task yet they simply throw stuff in the bin. Shameful. Maybe if the government bring in another ridiculous charge for not recycling that may light a fire under them! We know it could happen.

Take them along to Childrens Wards at your local hospital or to doctors surgeries - if you contact your local council they should be able to help you with some places where you can donate them. Make sure that your toys are all CE marked and that they are clean and complete - do not pass anything on that you would not be happy to recieve yourself. Do you know of some young families that might appreciate them?

Do a car boot, price according to your perception of the buyers ability to pay, then give the profits to a good charity, cuts out the middle man and the most deserving get the goodies based on your own criteria.

I would look in the yellow pages for consignment shops. There is one called Once Upon A Child in my area that buys used toys, kids clothing and accessories in good condition.
If you sell them at a store like that, you could use the money for Christmas, or to get your child something new. It is nice to get money for things that are in good condition and put it toward something they will use or something they need.
I like to go to consignment shops to look for clothes and toys for my nephews, because they are in really good shape and I usually save a lot of money buying toys and books. It is a nice way of recycling toys!
I hope this helps!

Try taking them to an orphanage or your local hospitals childrens ward . You could also get in touch with social services who may know some families who could benefit from toys for xmas.

in the UK, a hospital will not be able to take them now (scares of MRSA, etc)...
possibly the simplest way is a charity shop if you want to just get rid of them, but a boot sale is a great idea. You can keep the money for your own family this xmas or donate it back to a charity or worthwhile cause :-)
Its good of you - to care so much !!! Good Luck :-) Merry Xmas
