What traditions do you have that make Christmas special to you? Where it just isn't Christmas without it.

Where to begin? My family has so many traditions. Here are a few favorites that don't cost much.

First, we always go driving to look at Christmas lights. We put up the Christmas tree at midnight after Thanksgiving. After the kids got big enough, they decorated the tree all by themselves. We watch a Christmas movie every night during December. New stockings are hung every year. Old ones are used to decorate the house somewhere. Oh yeah! While opening presents, none of that putting away all of the paper and bows in a neat trash bag as you go. Oh no... Everyone throws the paper and ribbons about until the very last gift is opened. I have a photo every year of the huge mess around the tree after all of the gifts have been opened.

"'Twas the Night Before Christmas" is read every Christmas eve before the kids go to bed. I still love this story myself and have it memorized from reading it to my kids every year for a lot of years. Of course, putting out treats for Santa and even for the reindeer. And did you know that Santa leaves notes in return? We have gotten under the tree and looked up at the lights from underneath. Really a pretty sight and makes for interesting conversations. We also make homemade ornaments each year and I'm saving them to give to the kids when they move out.

nicely my kinfolk is small and not something had replaced for 20 years till this year. yet previously this year that's what we did.... Christmas Eve Candlelit provider at church. Then we bypass back to the homestead and study the Christmas tale interior the Bible (me and my brother used to combat over who reads it). Then we make some one "Santa" to grant out the supplies. Then we bypass to mattress truly truly overdue and arise truly truly early. i'm hoping this Christmas would be in basic terms as stable now that i'm married and stay 6 hours from my father and mom.

Its my daugthers birthday same day so its a double whammy of a wonderful day.
Church for one and a birthday cake for the other. But all in all it's a wonderful day for the family. I always make sure i have the day set aside for a family dinner. Its not every weekend these days that I am able tohave the whole family together. So thats a big buzz for me
