Yes, physician-assisted suicide is ethical and should be legal, IMHO.

Does it go against doctors' oath to not harm their patients? Depends. The Hippocratic Oath also says that doctors must "keep the good of the patient as the highest priority". Isn't it arguable that the "good of the patient" can mean ending the suffering of an incurable patient? Wouldn't prolonging the suffering of a patient also be "harming" them?

The relationship between a doctor and a patient must involve each individual patient's unique situation and needs. Having a law that categorically denies an option to all patients and all doctors doesn't make sense.

There should be one allowing physician assisted suicide for patients who are terminally ill and require constant heavy medication in order to not be in pain.

Laying groggy on a hospital bed is not what I call good quality of life, and I would like to be able to choose to end my life if I am suffering so much.

Physician-assisted suicide should be allowed in certain cases. We allow this for our pets. Why can't we allow this for ourselves? Is there a reason for someone to endlessly suffer with no possible hope of recovery? I don't think so. The humane thing is to end the suffering for someone who is prepared to die.

I think that assisted should be legal. If a person is suffering so much pain for months and years their dying There is no cure. They live a horrible ending nothing but terrible pain some Doctor don't believe in to much pain medicine, They lay day after day begging God to take them . I think that it is your life and I believe if you are suffering that much and you want to die than that should be your decision alone.

the muse of the hippocratic oath is do no harm - or the well known version isn't play at God. i think of anybody has the perfect to be freed from worry, soreness, and loneliness. i think of you have a ideal to choose your very own ideals. i think of people who choose suicide are the two no longer firmly on top of issues of their psychological colleges or suffering - the two one in all which could have steps taken as we communicate to end the undertaking yet no longer by killing them. i'm no longer able to assist an intentional 0.33 party ending to someones existence. it relatively is how I define the observe homicide. If i'm fired as a pharmacist for no longer issuing the morning after tablet am I additionally fired as a doctor for no longer killing you?

yea, it would suck to be in pain and suffering and all and I guess assisted suicide should be legal... I'm never going to do it, but for those who think it's the only thing for them to do, I think it's ok. yay!

If someone is terminally ill, I believe they have the right to end their life if they wish to do so BUT certain restrictions must apply.
