We have edible chocolate bells, Santa's etc hanging all over the tree. I noticed they have been disappearing, accused hubby and he accused me in turn. Woke up last night went downstairs for a glass of water and found my dog lying underneath the tree with a string hanging out of his mouth, now i know why he is being sick all the time. No more chocolate for him:))

My parakeets were afraid of our new tree. They would always fly away from it. So, I never really had a problem with new trees. Now, the fake ones - my best friend's old bull dog used to sleep under the tree and hide her bone in the presents.

Haha! Lol! My dog likes to play with the ornaments and open the presents under the tree by clawing away the wrapping paper. It's so funny, so I can never get mad.

we had a cat who believed that anything shaped like a ball was his toy, so ball-type ornaments that hung low on the tree disappeared or got broken. He never bothered the other ornaments. another cat loved to open packages, even ones that didn't have his name on them. (one time he tore open a 25-lb bag of rice, just in case there was something in there he might want. We had rice everywhere for weeks!)
And a friend's cat was very sick; the vet discovered she had eaten some ribbon and it blocked her digestive tract. Very expensive lesson.

i had a cat that weighed 18 lb. (no joke) and would climb it almost every day and naturally we would come home and the 8 foot tall tree would be laying on the floor and the cat in hiding. i also had a dog that loved the antique bulbs. she didn't like the new ones they weren't her taste she liked expensive toys she couldn't have!!
LOL

all animals go after the ornaments on the trees as they are shiny and bounce around when they bat them around, that's why I put nothing but lights on the bottom branches at my house.

We have cats that are always playing under it or eating it! It's so frustrating! Sometimes we will spray them with a water bottle to get them to stop. It doesn't hurt them, obviously, but it gets their attention.
