If a sex offender had a mental illness?

if the victum was 15 years old would the sex offender, be at fault or be convicted at a trail?

I think it's safe to say that all sex offenders have some level of mental illness, but they're put behind bars all the time. Even if this sex offender was sent to a mental hospital rather than to prison, it would be better than leaving them on the street to attack more 15 year olds. If you are the victim, you should go to the police, for your own sake and for the sake of other potential victims. If you are the offender, you should seek out psychological help before you hurt anyone else.

You didn't really give enough info to properly answer this question. It would all depend on if he raped her or if she consented. Young girls these days don't look like they're 14-15...they look like they are in their 20's if they wear make-up and women's clothing. she could have told him she was 21. as far as being a sex offender goes..anyone that forces sex on another human being IS mentally ill. like i said before ....whether he would be convicted is hard to say without knowing all of the details.

It doesn't matter what age the victim is, or the fact that he has a mental illness, the offender would still be at fault, and would be convicted.
