The president makes $400K/yr NOT including compensation and gifts. He receives around 1000 gifts a month. It is estimated that his wealth will reach 30 million. And if you think that is a lot, that is minimal compared to the wealth of Dick Cheney.

It was raised by Clinton in 1999 to $400,000. The current President is the first one to actually get that salary.

I believe it used to be 200,000. Clinton raised it during his last term and i think he raised it to 400,000.

This is straight from my Civics notes.

the president makes 400, 000 a year

however, in addition, he gets:
50,000 in a nontaxable expense account
&&
100,000 in a travel account

so..literally, all together, he gets about 550,000...

sadly, he doesnt get to keep a lot of it since he's always spending, traveling, and doing other things that require lotss and lotss of money............

hope i helped =]
