She called her Dr. but he just said "Go to the ER if you think you're really sick." Ugh. Her fever was 101 but is gone today. Does this signal the beginning of labor? Should she go to the ER?

With my first son i went to the er because i had a temp of 102.3 and i had my son that night, and my second son i went in to the dr office for a reg visit and when they took my temp it was at 101.6 and i had my son 2 days after that, and the fever was gone lol so i dont know....maybe? How are the baby's movements today? If she is not feeling the baby move she needs to get in ASAP. A friend of mine lost her baby at 9 months due to high fever, but she had it for 4 days. She was up in the mountains and couldn't get to her doctor in time.

YES!
Why did she not go? She doesn't know what could be happening to her body or her baby, so encourage her to go and get checked out!

I don't know about a temperature being a sign of labour starting- I know I got a temperature, but that was halfway through a 20 hour long labour. It makes me smile to think that whilst I was in agony with all the contractions, the best they could do was 2 paracetamol! Hee hee :)

I think that your s-i-l needs to be checked by a doctor to rule out any medical complaints :)

mioght be a sign of labor, but she may also be getting sick. there are lots of viruses and bugs this time of year. She should make an apt to get into the doctor. Remember if she is sick it can make it tougher on the baby when and after he is born

GO TO THE HOSPITAL! Who cares who says what it can be a sign of a infection you want to make sure the baby is ok. If something bad happens then how is she going to feel? Use your instinct and go. They can montior the baby, contractions, anything....go. I would rather be safe than sorry.

If she has no fever then it was probably a temporary virus. Just wait for her time.
