I meant I want only the heat sensor part of the assembly. Any place online/in LA where I can find something like that?

Repairclinic.com has the assembly, I just want part of it. They dont have that.

the knob with the temps on it is your t stat / go to altantic appliance in quincy mass dont know there web site but they will have the t stat guaranteed

You will not have any luck finding just the sensor for that control. They do not sell the parts separately. You will not be able to get just the sensor from any aftermarket source either. Not even from the vendor that made the control for Magic Chef. You must buy the whole assembly.

I'm not sure I'd want to risk running self cleaning for the first time on a 20yo range. Self cleaning amounts to running the oven at 500F until the dirt is turned to ash and can be wiped out.
