Vehicle is a 91 Chevy S10 Blazer with a 4.3L TBI V6. When vehicle is cold and warming up it hesitates a little bit, but gets worse when warmed up. Heat seems kind of weak coming out of the vents too. When i stopped into autozone for 5 minutes, it seems like the temp needle dropped alot.

I know the computer acts retarded if the thermostat is bad

The thermostat was replaced before, but i have a feeling that the previous owner who i know probably replaced it with a cheap one. I had a 1986 Buick Century that once blew cheap thermostats. I bought a Stant Superstat, and had no problems after that.

It seems to me that you have more than one problem. I can't say what is causing your hesitation. But, as far as t-stats go, they come in various calibrations. They are rated at which temperature they open. If you have one rated at 160 degrees. it will open then. The coolant will not get much hotter than that, and you heater won't blow much more than warm. If it's a 195, then the heat will be better. Every engine has a specification, but it is possible the wrong temp one was installed. I've seen it done before. And the computer has a sensor that reads coolant temperature. If it thinks the engine is cooler than it really is, then it will alter its parameters, and possibly cause hesitation. Think about it.

I would put a thermostat in it,I would also flush the cooling system if it hasn't been done. The vehicle is old enough that it should have been done.I would suspect the thermostat is stuck open. Good luck
