Last week my sister interviewed for a job at one of New York City's most prestigous law firms. She was interviewed by a man who had a dirty look on his face through most of the interview. Then it took an unexpected turn. His question was "We've never hired a woman at our firm before, so why should we start now?" My sister was highly taken aback and could not think of anything to say. A few moments went by and he said "that's what I thought."

My response, "and yet you are still in business, imagine what you could be doing if you did hire a women, plus that is totally against the law." (as she should know) because she wants to work in a law office...I mean he was obviously testing her...

Sounds like he was just trying to get a rise out of her, and she choked. Or, maybe he was just asking an honest question, and, well, she choked. Or, maybe he IS a sexist pig, and was wondering if hiring a woman would be detrimental to the firm, and, she choked.

I would have slapped him and put him in his place. But since she didn't, she could sue on the grounds of discrimination. Although sueing a prestigous law firm would probably be no easy task... yup so I would've ***** slapped him! Or kicked him in the nuts...

It's easy to answer in hindsight............. I more than likely would have reacted in the same matter as your sister did.I would have been speechless! It is hard to believe that
In this day and age who would expect such a piggish remark coming from a reasonably intelligent man. Oh! This make me so mad! I hope that your sister gets to sock it to this man& his client in court one day.

Report that sexist pig!! thats disgusting that people treat women like that. I feel sorry for your sister she would have been very very taken back by that sort of question.

You can't let him get away with something like that... thats just wrong!
