The new macbooks by apple are considered top of the line. They can be converted to a PC easily if that is a problem. They are very fast, and come with iLife, which comes with everything you seem to need. iWeb for web development, iPhoto for editing and storing, iDVD and iMovie HD for recording, editing, and creating professional DVDs. They come with built in cameras for web conferencing. The more expensive model comes with a DVD burner. It runs on an intel 2 chip, has a long battery life and is an attractive design.
They are 13" and cost about $1099-1499.

Go to www.pricewatch.com, and click on Notebooks. Find one that sounds like something you'd like, then speak with the vendor who is advertising the product. This site is highly reccommended on the computer channel, and I have personally used it myself.
All the phone numbers are toll free, and they will be quite helpful in helping you decide what you need.
Good luck, and Happy Holidays!
