Opening a portrait of me, my daughter and my nephew which my younger sister, an artist digitally enhanced, painted, matted and framed. Instant hands-over-face-covered-in tears reaction. What a sensation seeing my own face staring back at me. It is beautiful and hangs in my bedroom. That was about 6 years ago.

getting a dividend payout from a supermarket, converting it into cash, and then makin and selling christmas cake to boost the fund-and then taking the kids at the nursery where i work to the local old folks home, singing them some carols and then giving them the money we had earned to buy something for the place that would make their lifes a little better-i felt like a really good person and watching old folks crying over 40 quid and a few carols made me realise that christmas is just a big money maker most of the time, but when you strip it down to its original form and use the gift of giving-it makes you feel soooooo much better about yourself for a long time-do something nice to a stranger this christmas-it might work for you too!!

Every Christmas trip to see the lights, nativity scenes,Santa and Christmas morning since my oldest was old enough to have that sparkle in her eye over all of it.....it's like seeing it again as a kid yourself, through them.
