Okay, so I'm a mom who like so many others has said goodbye to the old social life. I've got a Christmas party tonight and I haven't been to a bar or club in over a year!
I have some velvet capris, straight leg, calf length. Can I wear these with strappy heels? Black hose? No hose? I saw the VH1 awards last night and there seems to be a lot of black hose showing up. I wish I had some tall boots, but alas, I don't.

No hose. :) the hose is more for looks w/ boots, or with mini skirts, etc. if u are wearing strappy heels, don't wear nose.
what could look cute would be the velvet capris, a crisp white fitted button down shirt/blouse, strappy heels, and a fitted short jacket.
also u can try a ruched black top (whenever in doubt, black is Slimming!!!).. ruched is usually at the sides or at the chest area to cover trouble spots like bulge, etc. and then u can wear a bolero, short jacket, or cardigan over.
maybe u can wear a white tank, and a cardigan with a cute pin. if u have a nice sash/belt u can also put it around the skinniest part of ur waist (over a fitted shirt or looser shirt to give u shape). good luck!

Definitely stay away from the hose with the velvet capri pants. That's just too many textures, but I think that the capris with the strappy sandals and a sassy top should be fine! Definitely either a fun, bright colored tunic top or keep it simple with a black top and then accessorize brightly. Have fun at your party!

Black hose would look great!!! ! Yes that is def in and the black velvet is def inn also.... your going to look great.

ok take a wonderful skirt tournament it with some thing there you've an outfit opposite direction is to bypass to "maurices" the have quite some formal positioned on u will discover an outfit there! im useful!
