if my mother's family history is mixed with black, white, and indian and my dad's family history is mixed with black and indian? some people believe that i should just say I am black and get over it, but i don't agree. a lot of people (strangers) think that i am mixed and i do believe that i am mixed. even some of my family members think i look like some other race like asian indian. i don't want to deny any part of me. i dont think it is right to claim some parts of me and not all. i dont want to upset anyone especially my black friends (who considers themselves 100% black) can you please help me?

call yourself whatever you want but know this...
just about EVERYBODY is mixed with something...
you dont have to call out every single culture/ethnicity in your background to be special...
black people tease me all the time (i am very light skinned)...there are stupid or insensitive people in every race...fact of life...

You should consider yourself Black. You are not denying any part of yourself if you do acknowledge your other blood roots as well. But truly, society considers you a Black individual. Everyone knows that one drop of black blood makes a person Black. This is only true for the Black race among others, simply because once a piece of Black is in you, the traces are very obvious, no matter what. Unlike the white race, for instance, if you mix a white and black child, the child looks mixed of course (sometimes), yet dominantly black.
Now, there are special cases, like if you were mixed like you say you are and you were born in another country or something like in France. You would be automatically French, so when people approached you to ask what you were, your answer would be French.
Here's me: I'm Black, Italian, and Puerto Rican. Since I have Black in me, then on all my questionnaires I check black. When people ask me, I tell them what I am actually' however, I always cherish and recognize that I am also Black. Now I speak Spanish, and was raised mostly with my Hispanic family and spoke Spanish since I came from the womb, so I consider my culture Puerto Rican, because that's how I was raised and I relate more to Puerto Ricans than anything. I know nothing of the Italians in my family at all. Never met one. So, I don't deny them, but I know they are there somewhere in me. You know........Hope that helps.

Who you are is not determined by who your parents (and their parents) are. You are a product of your environment, your upbringing, the people who surround you. There is not one defining factor that, once you have it, would make you Black, White or whatever. Your friends will see you for who you are and what your interests and behavior is. If you allow other people to start classifying you it will never end.
There is a great collection of stories written by multiracial authors: Mixed: Anthology of Multiracial Experience. They live through similar identity issues and many learn that they are who they are.
Because it is impossible to categorize millions and millions of Americans based on the existing US census categories of Black, White, Asian, Other, etc, they have introduced changes that allow for selection of multiple races/ethnic groups. In a few decades over 20% of US population will be that of mixed race.
So be who you are and do not worry about race.

You may very well be mixed...like Halle, Tiger or Lenny Kravitz...but at the end of the day..when society looks at you...and the people I just mentioned what do they see?
They see a Black person. So go ahead an call yourself whatever you want...society will categorize you in any event.

because of fact society does not care approximately your genetics. It cares related to the way you look. If a individual seems black whether they're blended, they're seen black. that's because of fact society consistently feels the might desire to categorize and team human beings. @The clever Answerer: The final element of your fact sounds ignorant. in basic terms because of fact somebody does not have a white discern or a discern of a distinctive race does not advise they are not blended. If the combination continues to be interior the line, technically they're blended, besides the shown fact that that's no longer direct.

I think you are mixed races and there is nothing wrong with that. Tiger Woods is mixed races. It is cool to be different and don't ever be ashamed of who you are.
