What does it mean when a black person acts white?
Asian people who come to the USA act white and no ones says anything.
All other brown skinned people who come from other countries come to the USA and act white and no one says anything.
All races who come here act white and no one says anything about it, but when a black american acts white then suddenly it's a bad thing and he or she is selling out their race.

Generally a black person would refer to another person of non-Caucasian race of "acting white" when that person is presuming to be prestigious, high class, or at times acting as if they are better than other people (not saying that is the actual personality and character of a White person). It's the opposite of when a White person states that another White person is "acting black" (generally when that particular White person acts "ghetto", listens to rap music, or uses slang).

How can you act like a certain race? people who believe that kind of crap are idiots. Contrary to what most fools think, the way black people act, varies from person to person, so you can never act black, its the same with actong whites. Don't believe the stereotypes that the media constantly bombares you with, be smarter than that.

because i wear hollister, American eagle, a&f,and because i

acting white means you dont act "ghetto" or listen to rap. I sure dont and I'm mixed....Black/Asian. I have to act smart and "ghetto"....I am rather preppy actually. Prep/punk. I go out w/ a white boy and all of them in my class ignore me now. like I'm a "sellout".

I believe people think that if you act white when your black then your considered a trader to your race. Its dumb if you ask me, I mean who cares!

It means you don't fully know your heritage or understand what it means to be black and blessed. It means you're more timid and mellow then mean and representing! Study more of your culture and heritage and spend more time with others who are "blessed" with being black.
