OK, there is absolutely no way to be sure you will not have cancer. But there is one way to not get an STD: Don't have sex until you get married, then only have it with one preson. Why are we spending money to cure this?

I have never donated one dollar to cure STD's, and I never will. Hopefully someday people with realize how stupid this is.

People don't want to give up something they like. They would rather not suffer the consequences.
More money goes to AIDS because it hit the rich and famous hard in the 1980's. If it had started in the poor community, like syphilis or dysentery, it wouldn't be so cool to support AIDS research.
I have a friend in Uganda, Africa. She says the AIDS stats are all lies. The African countries know that they can get AIDS money if they keep the numbers high. So when someone is ran over or shot, they are listed as an AIDS death. It all about money, wake up America you are being scammed.

For the same reason we don't just kill off everyone with an STD: people don't get a choice. If a policeman were guarding a prison with an inmate who had AIDS and the inmate got in a fight and was bleeding and the policeman had to immobilize the inmate and the policeman got AIDS from holding the inmate down, do you think that your statement of "How to not get an STD" is logical? And if you say "Oh well I guess it's OK for that..." then you might as well do it for everyone else. Also, people make mistakes. I'm sure your perfect and have never ****** up before in your life, but if you were like the rest of us and not so superhuman then you would know that **** happens and sometimes you just can't help it and need to fix it.

Also, following the same logic as you, that would mean that we shouldn't donate money to people with cancer because people with lung cancer got it from smoking. Or people with skin cancer got it from staying in the sun too long. Or people with mouth cancer got it from chew. Why donate money to anything?

Hopefully this will change your mind about donation. It's your choice if you don't want to donate, just don't go around recruiting. Think before you speak next time, and take a walk in someone else's shoes.
P.S. It's STDs, ***, not STD's. Fix your grammar.

Actually AIDS doesn't only affect "sinners" a you are referring to AIDS victims as. Some are rape victims, babies born to HIV+ mothers, blood transfusion recipients...but most of all even the "sinners" have a right to life. There is plenty of money going into cancer research, but it doesn't mean you ignore all the other diseases. Cancer can be caused by "operator error" too you know...smoking, obesity, drinking. I bet you are against stem cell research too, as well as a comprehensive sex education taught in schools. Not every child has the opportunity to be taught about sex, and not every parent knows all the right things to say. I'm in nursing school and you would be suprised to see the ignorance of well-educated patients that I have when it comes to health--including sex. And, let's face it...sex is in our DNA--it's visceral and innate in human nature. Abstinence is best, but education is more practical.

I think people are spending the same for both. And just so you know many of the people in Africa and other countries even the US gets AIDS from being raped, so are you sure in your life time you or no one you know will ever be raped? 1 in every 6 women are raped and 1 in 10 men are raped.

P.S. don't think so stupid, you're no better then any of them. The high will be humbled.

hopefully you'll never have a friend or family member suffer from hepatitis, HIV or serious STD's. Plus money is given to find cures for HIV as it is an "evolving" problem, which we would prefer not to become an air born problem.

and money is spent on finding cures for all disease and virus mate.

Uh, wrong.

A lot of money has been spent to find cures for all sorts of diseases. If you don't want cancer, be mindful of what you eat. If you don't want AIDS, have protected sex. It's entirely possible to marry a person with AIDS.

i think they should both be given attention to equally but as u say yes it has become people's own faults for AIDS but not everyone(especially in Africa) has access to protection and they're not gonna suddenly stop ever having sex again b/c of that...that's jus not gonna happen, and so thousands of new born babies and children have HIV/AIDS when it wasn't even their fault so comparing to someone who didn't mean to have cancer is exactlly the same as a child and eventually an adult as we see today who didn't mean to have aids

it's the same thing bottom line.

I am pretty sure we donate money to both. do you have any understanding of how serious AIDS is, and how awful it would be if someone you knew got it through a BLOOD TRANSFUSION because the gov't didn't put the money forth to help find measures to screen blood.

There is money allocated for each of the diseases you mention. Your statement is unreasonable.
