Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It has never meant anything than that to me, as I was brought up in a Christian home. To celebrate Christmas without giving thought to Jesus Christ who is the "reason for the season" ,is to miss the true meaning and spirit of the season. Decorations, Christmas trees and all the gifts are nice, but so many people never even think about Him. That is a shame.

CHRISTMAS skill diverse issues to diverse human beings. Many view it as a time of vacation even as the finished kinfolk receives mutually. they offer the impact of being ahead to Christmas as a joyous social gathering featuring good foodstuff, singing and dancing, favored companionship and the replacing of elements. have you ever suggested, although, that happiness is often lacking in the course of the Christmas season? A Roman Catholic priest presently suggested as Christmas “the once a year season of melancholy and neurosis.” A worker at a large procuring center suggested: “You bypass out on your smash, and also you word human beings operating round, getting a modern for therefore and so, and they’re truly grouchy. human beings don’t provide elements with exhilaration.” In his e book the tale of Christmas, Michael Harrison writes: “first of all, it must be suggested that, even with the efforts of innumerable scholars, it has not yet been proved upon what day . . . Christ replaced into born.” The Bible is silent about the date of Jesus’ start. Writings of early “church fathers” are divided on the remember. Clement of Alexandria (of the 2d and third centuries C.E.) refers to three who believed that Jesus replaced into born on April 19 or 20. Others favored ought to 20. nonetheless others pointed to January a million, January 6, March 21, March 28 and many different dates. The Catholic Encyclopedia comments that “there's no month interior the 365 days to which respectable authorities have not assigned Christ’s start.” Is that not significant to you? Is it not sparkling that if God needed human beings to have a good time the birthday of Jesus Christ he ought to have had the date recorded interior the Bible? you'll remember that the Bible does include the date for the Passover and for the memorial of Christ’s demise. (Ex. 12:6, 14; a million Cor. 11:23-25; Luke 22:7-20) curiously it replaced into not God’s will for absolutely everyone to have a good time the start of his Son, Jesus. this is not staggering, hence, to study interior the hot Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of non secular understanding: “there's no historic data that our Lord’s birthday replaced into celebrated in the course of the apostolic or early postapostolic situations.”

For me, it is to celebrate and observe the birth of Christ. It is also a special day to enjoy spending time as a family. It isn't about gifts - giving or getting - to me. I could celebrate it fine without recieving one gift. In fact, I think that would make it even more enjoyable for me.
I just recently asked my two children - ages 8 and 5 years - what Christmas meant to them and they told me the same thing, even though they recieve many gifts each Christmas. I was so proud of them!

Christmas is a Roman Catholic invention that was intended to quell support for Saturnalia, a pagan holiday, by putting Jesus in the false god's throne. It didn't work because there is no truth that it is the birthday of Jesus Christ. Jesus was likely born in the spring when shepherds would be watching their flocks in the fields. As for what it means to me: Just another proof of the demonic influence of the papacy.

Actually according to the Bible it doesn't say that Christ was born on Christmas day ... there is no proof... and it doesn't say there was three wise men just three gifts.... someone needs to read the Bible and quit adding to it.... :( You should think about Christ all the time not just when "Christmas" comes around. That is not what He wanted... why does everyone think that they can just give at Christmas time and God is happy with them... what about the other 364 days of the year!
