My husband and I have been together for 23 years and he just doesn't talk much, sometimes he does though. And we love each other very much, although, it took him a long time to really say it like he does now.

That's a question none of us can possibly claim to answer adequately; it's so personal, we'd have to know him, know you...
You should ask his friends, or perhaps brother/sister; they know him well so they should be able to give you a clue, anyway. In any case, you do need to find a way to communicate with him if he's not the chatty type... Give it a good chance before you give up on him, though; you obviously got together for a reason, so that's worth making an effort -on both sides, mind...

well that is a tough one. most guys wont say that. So he really might actually love u. but he could just be telling u what u want to hear. if he only talks to u if u are alone...DUMP HIM! but if he respects u and doesnt care if people know that u are going out then he does love u if he has said it.

Guys are not always good at communicating their feelings so he may really love you, but also a lot of guys will tell a girl/woman that they love them so they can get what they want.

He just might not know how to show it if he does. Just tell him that by talking to you more it can show you he loves you. If he doesn't do it, dump him for some one who will. It's easy to find someone to love the trick is to find someone to love you back!

aww hun i'm sure he does.
i have been with my fiance for 3 years and we hardly talk much and if we do its about work or our daughter.
but deep down i know he loves me as he wants to marry me.
talk to him about how you are feeling. if he isnt treating you the way you want him too then find someone who will. there are plenty more fish in the sea.

Depends how long have you knowen him?If you don't really know him then he is probably saying that just to say it.Personally I think you should talk to him about it and tell him how you feel about him saying that to you.
