Considering that almost all gay people were raised by straight parents, I do not think so.

Just by the way you asked your question leads me to believe that you feel homosexual behavior is morally wrong. If that's the case there is really no point in asking your question because you have already answered it. What is the difference between a straight and gay person...nothing at all. If you want to take this from a religious angle don't forget, we are to love everyone, not just straight people! If a child is raised in a caring and loving home what difference does it make who the care givers are. By the way... It is a fact that genetics determine a persons sexual preference. Look it up!

I think people who are bigots or insecure in their own sexualities would like to believe that was the case. The reality is what is a 'normal' relationship? There are so many variations of a theme that it no longer boils down to sexuality, but security. If someone can show a child a stable, loving home. Where mutual respect and understanding prevail above all - surely that has to be more important then chosen partner or this mythical nuclear family that simply doesn't exist.

Nope. A huge majority of gay people are raised by straight people- all around them, are male-female couples, it's what they see on TV, it's what they know and come to see as natural- and yet they still realize their desires and know they are gay.

Why would it be any different for heterosexual children raised by a homosexual couple? They might have that initial wondering (why do I like the opposite sex instead of the same, like my moms/dads?), but given that we still live in a heteronormative world where straight couplings are seen everywhere, I doubt even that will happen- they'll just know they're 'parents' are different, but they're striaght.

That's all.

no the only way is that if the child is not confused about his sexuality from the begining. Meaning at an early age.

No. It's not like people choose to be gay, they're just born that way. I'm not gay, but my friend's parents are, and he says that if anything, it made him more comfortable with his sexuality. Nobody should let the fact that they're gay get in the way of doing things that straight people do. That's just ridiculous. I don't see what everyone's problem is with gay parents- My friend loves his two dads more than anything in the world.

No. The bulk of evidence to date indicates that children raised by gay and lesbian parents are no more likely to become homosexual than children raised by heterosexuals. As one researcher put it. "If heterosexual parenting is insufficient to ensure that children will also be heterosexual, then there is no reason to conclude that children of homosexuals also will be gay."

Studies asking the children of gay fathers to express their sexual orientation showed the majority of children to be heterosexual, with the proportion of gay offspring similar to that of a random sample of the population. An assessment of more than 300 children born to gay or lesbian parents in 12 different samples shows no evidence of "significant disturbances of any kind in the development of sexual identity among these individuals".

I think it would teach him/her to be more accepting of the gay community and he/she could decide for him/herself when the time is right. I don't think that what we see makes us gay or straight since we see both in every context of life(ie: TV, real life) and I also think that seeing parents constantly fighting would make a child think that their best friend either male or female would be their best choice of a mate, not specifically their opposite gender.

Not really. People are gay, it's in the genes, the only way it could affect someone is if they're already gay, they just grow to realise it quicker because they're put in an environment where it's the norm.

Hanging around with people who prefer men doesn't change what you prefer.

Absolutely not. The only one's who are confused are the one's who ask these sorts of questions.

My son was never confused about his sexuality, he's very comfortable and secure in who he is. There is NO peer reviewed research backing your sentiment.
