Music is amazing isn't it? It has the power to make us happy, sad, excited, etc. Sometimes it makes us remember a certain period of time in our lives and sometimes it just takes us to another place. It definitely has the power to affect our moods.

My whole life has been very involved with music on a pretty personal level. I record myself, and have played in several bands which have led to several gigs. Obviously not everyone is into music on that kind of level. I guess what I'm trying to say is whether you are a total fanatic, or just the casual listener, it's hard to find anyone that doesn't ever even turn on the radio, or have a favorite or set of favorite songs that they listen to. Music drives the soul. You can find a song and make the lyrics be your own. A sad song can often be attributed to feeling sad or a little down yourself, and it can turn it around or at least set your mind at ease. On happiness, the same thing occurs. I can't remember where, but in a movie I heard someone say "Music is the soundtrack to our lives." How more true could that be? I think music absolutely relates to our life patterns. If you and your "clique" are all metalheads, for instance, you will appreciate and find devotion to that particular music. Even if that style may do nothing for say, an emo kid, it may mean the world to a metalhead. They find solace in the music that flows through their everyday life. I have find my inner sanctum with Ween, The Flaming Lips, Super Furry Animals, Primus, Beck, and so on. Each of these bands are always on my personal mp3 player that resides in my mind and can get me through any rough situation.
