Yeast infections commonly smell fishy, if your hurting that much you need to make sure you're going to the doctor to get proper medical attention.

Here's more info:
Yeast organisms are always present in all people, but are usually prevented from "overgrowth" (uncontrolled multiplication resulting in symptoms) by naturally occurring microorganisms.

At least three quarters of all women will experience candidiasis at some point in their lives. The Candida albicans organism is found in the vaginas of almost all women and normally causes no problems. However, when it gets out of balance with the other "normal flora," such as lactobacilli (which can also be harmed by using douches), an overgrowth and symptoms can result. Pregnancy, the use of oral contraceptives, engaging in vaginal sex after anal sex in an unhygenic manner, and using lubricants with glycerine have been known to be causally related to yeast infections. Also, antibiotics, and diabetes mellitus can lead to an increased incidence in yeast infections.

[edit] Symptoms
Symptoms include severe itching, burning, and soreness, and irritation of the vagina and/or vulva, and a whitish or whitish-gray discharge that may have a "yeasty" smell like beer or baking bread. It may resemble cottage cheese.

Many women mistake the symptoms of the more common bacterial vaginosis for a yeast infection. In a 2002 study published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, only 33 percent of women who were self treating for a yeast infection actually had a yeast infection. Instead they had either bacterial vaginosis or a mixed-type infection. Currently, bacterial vaginosis can only be diagnosed by a doctor.

Find Betadine douche and use it about 3 times a week. Eat 8 ounces of live culture yogurt every day to get your PH under control for at least a week. I have cleared up a Yeast infection (caused from taking antibiotics that kill off the healthy bacteria in your va jj.) Many times.

Does it hurt when you urinate? If so start drinking Unsweetened Cranberry concentrate diluted with water. 1 pint will make two gallons mixed with water. 6 Ounces before every meal and between each meal. This will clear up a urinary infection. You get this at a health food store.

Give these a try and see if they don't solve your problem. Once your PH balance gets out it is a challenge to get it right again.

Good Luck.

A change in your body chemistry may be causing your discomfort. You could possibly have a yeast infection, but to make sure that is really whats going on go see your doctor. For the time being to relieve some of the discomfort soak in a warm bake and soda bath and use pantyliner (will help keep the order down) Do not use famine sprays this will promote infections as well.

This is the exact thing that happened to me, the soap burned. I went to the doctor and found out I had bacterial vaginosis. You will need to go to the doctor to get an antibiotic but it will go away. I also suggest taking acidophilus tablets and breaking open the tablet wetting the powder and inserting it vaginally to replace some of the yeast you are lacking. This is lactobacilli a good bacteria. Discuss all of this with your doctor as you will need a prescription with the antibiotic. I have been BV free for a month now :)

Sometimes when you use soaps with certain dyes or fragrances in it, it can irritate the area. I've done it before. It does burn. Now for the odor...I would make sure you are not wearing tight jeans and are wearing cotton underwear or something loose. I was told that women will generally sweat more down there and it is easier for bacteria and odors to come about. If you are really worried about it, there are several douches and feminine sprays, etc. out there that help. Douches are really good. If you try one I would definitely try a vinegar one and not one with perfume.

You describe the symptoms of an yeast infection. But brings to question, why you only have this when douching? Also, what are you using to douche with? The ph of the vagina is acid and will only get yeast infection when that acidity is too low. Is why the vinegar douche is always recommended as a preventative as well as treatment.

see your doctor ASAP a bad fishy odor is a sure sign of an infection. burning and itching also indicate a problem. I also suggest that you don't use anything with added fragrances in your genital area. just mild soap and water. make sure you change underwear daily or when needed. wipe yourself from front to back and drink lots of water and some cranberry juice wouldn't be bad. most of all see your doctor

If you have a fishy odor it probably isn't a yeast infection, but worse, trichamonis (spelled wrong) or worse. You need to go to the doctor, it is a bacterial infection....
