Warning dont buy a rubiks cube from walmart or walgreens ect..
unless you want a cheap cube that the stickers come apart after
not much use.

This is because the glue on the stickers is old and almost all dried up. As you can see, if you spend less you will get something with less quality. My recomendation is use the one you have now till the stickers are peeled so bad you cant use the cube. Then buy a new one for about $10 and then you will have a perfectly good new one

Simple, if this is a new one.
It's crap, it was made in some country by slave labor and the cheapest possible cost. It would not matter if you bought it at Wal mart or Toys R Us it's all the same crap.
I am not trying to put down the people who made this, it's just big business tries to get stuff made as cheap as possible so they can make more money.
It's too bad we don't make most things here in the US.
Employ US workers and keep them off unemployment and welfare.
Better to collect a paycheck and pay taxes, than cost the taxpayer money on welfare.

My guess is that the rubicks cube has more than likely not been manufactured for 10 years. Its old. The stickyness has died. The reason you see them in the stores now, so cheap, is because they have sat in a warehouse somewhere for years.
