Our company gives out $25.00 gift certificates for a turkey on thanksgiving. We hired two new interns and I gave my boss their gift certificates to give to them when he saw them. After the holidays I asked them of they got them and they both indicated they did not receive them. What now?

They are interns. Your office may have a policy re: unpaid employees. Check into policies and procedures first. If the policy is to give the interns the certificates it certainly is unethical but you need to ask yourself if you would like to bring attention to this matter and what the consequences may be. Choose your battles wisely. This may not be one that is worth fighting. If that is the worst your boss has done, consider yourself lucky.

I would give their boss the benefit of the doubt and ask him to dig up the certificates and pass them along.

Not your problem at this point. If asked, just say I gave them to Mr. ---- to hand out. Next time, make sure you put them into the individuals' hands that they go to. You did your best, so don't worry.
