When a guy says he would love you if he was single what does it mean?
i was dating a guy for a while we both were very physically attracted to one another and things broke up as i was upset about my job etc a little needy at the time...he always stares at me when we are out and the other day i apoligised to him and he said i was one of the most lovely people he had met and that initially he was intimidated by my job ( i have quite a high powered job and earn good money) he also said he thought i was gorgeous back then and still does, i said i was leaving and he kept on grabbing me and said he would love me...if he was single..When i chatted about one of my ex boyfriends he got jealous and said 'what about us?'. He has only just started to date someone else..i have always been infatuated with him and vice versa..what should i do should i ask him for a drink as friends, i think he could of beena potential one

If he is dating someone else don't tell in how you feel.. but if he really wants you he will let you know in his own way.
'And you stated that you told him you were leaving and all he did
was grab you and told you he would love you if he was single.
he had the chance to get you back but didn't instead he found omeone else.
That tells me he is playing you..
If he really loves you he would of asked you out not some one
else..

Be careful, because if he is telling you these things while he is dating someone else, then he will be telling the next girl the same thing while he is dating you. BUT, if you're willing to take that chance then I suggest you and him skip over all the flirting and act upon your true feelings. Also, there's a saying that says something like "If you love something, let it go, and if it comes back then it was meant to be." So since he belongs to someone else, I think you need to let him go for now and if he truly wants to be with you then he will be back.

Walk away! No, run away! His grabbiness suggests potential physical abuse. The fact that he is married means he is willing to cheat on his wife; what makes you think he won't cheat on you? His jealous of your "history" with another guy suggests he wants to dominate you, keep you to himself.
Do not invite this guy for a drink. He will think you are coming on to him and he clearly doesn't want to just be friends.

He means that he does not consider himself to be single.
People who get jealous even when they are not dating you are not normally stable. Jealousy always comes from a poor self-image, and a lot of men who have them try to have a better self image by beating up on women.
I would forget this guy. His head is not right. He is a loser, throw him back.

You need to dump this guy, what are you thinking??? He would love you if he were single??? To me that means I like you as long as your putting out, and of course he is jealous about your ex-boyfriend because he is a possessive, narcissistic, pig. DUMP HIM, run away from him as fast as you can, if you are as smart as you say you are then act like it....
