Should it deter me from living there?

I have lived in central texas almost all of my life and I have only been stung by a bee once, it was a honey bee. I dont know if they are rampid in other parts of texas though. There are all sorts of bees and wasps, but generally if you leave them alone they will leave you alone. The fire ants are really bad, you just need to keep an eye out for them and you'll be fine. They also just released a species of fly that is a predator to fire ants so hopefully the population will eventually lower.

Hi. Texas is not alone. As the Earth warms due to climate change the bees will range further north. No more of a worry than other things, in my opinion.
