I never gave my first son any reason to believe in Santa. He helped me shop for presents and I wrapped them in front of him. I realized with a shock when he was 5 that he believed in Santa. (Santa's visit to our house when he was 3 might have had something to do with that. Hmm...) Anyway, he was 6 or 7 when he stopped believing. On the other hand, he's 22 now, and he'll still pretend just to get a laugh out of me.

On "Late Night With Conan O'Brian " last night he said that the average American child stops beliving in Santa between 3 and 6 years of age. I know coan isn't a news anchor but I don't think he makes stuff up he just makes fun of it.
