I am wanting some ideas on treating a stuffy nose at night. I have tried propping my head up on more pillows and it is strickly a sinus thing but is it warm humidity or cool humidity? And can someone offer me a good product or machine that is working for you?

Thanks in advance for good answers....

I am on a prescription medication daily for my sinus problems as well as a prescription nose spray. I know about Vicks but I am talking about humidifiers. Again, please know this is not a cold, but a flare up in sinus.

I prefer warm humidity except that it makes it miserable to sleep because the room gets hot and stuffy. The cold air vapos I've used leave a film on everything in the room, so don't like those. Vicks vapor rub is great at opening up your nose. I hate the greasiness of it, but now they have a non-greasy cream. Also, a sinus spray like Afrin will open it up in a hurry. Good luck!

I just manage my sinus problems with nasal spray (something like Beconase??) and anti-histamines (loratadine) every day. This reduces symptoms for 24 hours if you keep it up. Eucalyptus oil in the air or on your pillowcase is also helpful, and you can use aromatherapy with some types of humidifiers. Can't recommend brands because I'm in New Zealand (probably wouldn't help you, wherever you are!).

I will give you two suggestions. One is using breathe right strips...plus it also helps with snoring. Second would be to use menthlatum. You just put it under your nose and it will clear it up at night for you to sleep sound!

Vicks! It always always clears me up. I have put it right underneath my nose before bed and that seems to work. Also, Claritin works wonders!

Although it doesn't get ride of a cold totally, it will reduce the time you have a heavy cold in half, My wife and I use it religiously for at-least 10 years.
