I wouldn't trust this particular auction - looks a bit too much like a scam. I found a guide that can better explain than what I was thinking (see source).

well these auction are many for fun you will get 35 dollars worth of something but he has 1999 chances but only 3 out 1999 chances of winning a ps3 but hes got the envolpes and most people will think this auction is joke so theres no real chance of getting a ps3 but you will a TMX elmo and probly a dvd. So if you like to gamble or take risk then go ahead buy one the auction and dont get mad if you dont get what you want.

i just read the entire description, and if you were to do the same, you would descover what is written in the small print. Basically, you are bidding on an envelope with a piece of paper and on that paper is written one of the prizes. You will not actually recieve the so called "gifts"

If only those were real...
