Inertia : An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. The forces acting on the pot are gravity and the table, by moving the paper no force is put on the pot so it will not move.

Hi. It demonstrates inertia. The pot will only move a small amount because it wants to stay where it is.
