While Brian was drunk at an office party, he hid his car keys so they wouldn't get stolen. The next day, Brian couldn't recall where he hid the keys and had to get a new set of keys made for his car. C. for the first
B. for the second

I looked online
* state-dependent retrieval involves better memory recall when the person is in a similar environment as when information was studied or memory associations were made

* mood congruence is associating two cues, such as smiling with pleasantness or happiness

* the context effect is supposed to be triggering similar moods or memories when in a similar environment, such as feeling stressed out at work or in any place similar to it

I agree with the other answer that the second example is not perfect -- it should be that Yoko feels happy if she associates happiness with places that resemble her childhood environment. But this is the closest answer because the others are clearly unrelated.

I believe the best answers would be c,d respectively, although I do not believe that the question is an ideal example for any of the responses to the 2nd question.
