I'm about to tell you something which will probably scare you beyond words, yet possibly it will make you happy to tears:
A lot of women like anime. A lot of women your age like anime. A lot of those women are very attractive.
The problem isn't the anime, it's the girlfriend. If she's trying to mold you into her version of a man, then she needs to be politely shown the door before you end up engaged and giving up something which gives you happiness. She wants a different man than you; allow her the freedom to find him.
Your next girlfriend should be either found at an anime film festival or at a Comic Convention at an anime graphic novel table getting her stack of books signed by the artist.

Hey, I love anime to! For all the reasons you mention above + some. My guy and I are avid collectors. Unfortunately there are, and will probably always be, allot of people that just don’t understand what is up with these "cartoons." Have you tried getting her to watch some of Miyazaki's movies like Spirited Away or Howls Movie Castle? Nearly everyone likes these and the lack of big boobed girls will help your cause. If that works out maybe you could jump to something like Vampire Hunter D and then who knows?? However, this may not be her thing so I wouldn't push her into it.
From your post it sounds like she may be a bit on the nagging or insecure side. It is not wrong for couples to like different things. Just because she doesn't like it does not mean she should expect you to stop. When my husband's races are on, something I really don't care for, I am quite happy to do my nails, read, go out, whatever, and we both are happy. Sounds like you two should come to some sort of understanding about it.

I'm a little older than you and I love anime too. I believe maybe your gf needs to sit down, watch a good serie and judge from then. Not all anime are for children. You shouldn't feel guilty about loving something like that. Unless you spend your ENTIRE time watching, drawing, downloading, talking about it..... My opinion, you shouldn't change what you love just because one person can't relate to it.

I absolutely agree with Jess B. There is no cut-off age for anime. A lot of people think anime is bad because they watch it, sees that it has some bad stuff, and label people who watch it as pervs and needing to get a life. Think about the people in Japan. People who draw anime are all in their mid-thirties. Your girlfriend needs to be more accepting of you. And she does not understand what anime is like. Pick some out and watch them with her.

its okay to love anime a lot but if you start liking anime so much that you say that this one anime girl is your girlfriend then that might be alittle over the top.

no!!!!!!!! it shouldn't matter what other people think about you. it isn't right to talk about people like that. you don't need people like that. if you ask me i'd say your girlfriend is a bit paranoid if she thinks you have fantasies like that. even if you do it's none of her concern and besides it's not like you could cheat on her with an anime character.
