All the pics I have seen show two eyes. There is an eye on the other side, you just can't see it in the view you have. :o)

Two eyes of such complexity that our eyes cannot compare. To think a squid can live in total darkness and still be able to discern depth, breadth and distance that enables it catch food amazes me.
