We hear celebrities preaching alot to the common man about helping the poor. What do you think they could do themselves? It seems odd to me that they sit in mansions and sit on millions while they preach to people who make $30,000 about helping the poor.
Here's one way I think THEY can help the poor and the average man. Take a major cut in their multi-million dollar pay so the average person can actually afford to do the things that they make money on. How can they preach to us about helping the poor while they are making us pay $10.00 a person to take our family to the movies or $200.00 just to take our sons to a pro game? This is so ridiculous and two faced that it really burns me up. That's just me, though. How do you feel about it?

I agree with you 100% but I think we as a society are to blame, really. We as a group have idolized these people, treat them like gods and will pay whatever it takes to see them.We pay the outrageous ticket prices for movies, concerts and sporting events. If we weren't willing to do so,the prices would HAVE to come down.
As far as donating their money, wouldn't it be nice if some of the celebrities that brag about their extravagant lifestyle would decide not to buy their 10th car,or decide NOT to have a Starbucks in their basement and give that money to charity.

Most of what i said by celebrities is nothing more than a show of good faith. Put a good face out there and it's easier to sell your product. That's why these people have publicists and consultants to tell them when and where they should focus they're attention.
It's hard for me or you to understand how the rich and famous spend their time and money. They don't work 9-5s or owkr 2 jobs to get by. Doing or a movie or promoting their next book doesn't register on my scale of difficult jobs. Imagine the free time and then imagine one of them getting an idea that 'I need to save the world'. Next step is get on a soapbox and proclaim their newfound concern for the well-being of the world. I am guessing it is an empty life that can be filled only with pushing themselves to the public to give the aura of deep concern for humanity and the environment. Meanwhile you can only do what you can. Live your life, help someone out where you can, and know that you can look straight through them and see what they're actually doing. Lip service for face time.

I like what Angelina Jolie does, she is a like an ambassador and donates a LOT of her money to countries and uses her star status to call attention to different charities. There should be more like her.

I agree with you though, on the cost of taking kids to a game these days, it's crazy and it's crazy what the players get paid....and they take steroids and set bad examples for our kids, and get away with stuff that no one else could.... but that's a whole other rant....

Nobody 'makes' you spend money on a movie - it's a choice. And taking all the money from the rich and distributing it to the poor would just make us all poor. The Bush government gave everyone some of their taxes back a few years ago, at a cost of billions of dollars, and most people received just a few hundred dollars - nothing to really change anyone's life.

People have to help themselves. Give up damaging behaviors like smoking and drinking that take money away from activities like education for their families. Poor parents need to encourage their kids to get through high school and get to college, either working their way or on a scholarship. Really, only the poor can help the poor.

I don't know how these actors, rappers, sports players and business owners can have multiple expensive cars, luxurious mansions, jewelry etc. and not be concerned about people out there who desperately need a helping hand. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it if I didn't share with others somehow.

That has always made me kind of angry too...

What's even more annoying is that when they DO decide to do something to help their fellow man, its a HUGE publicity stunt. It's like they're giving a little money to make a little money.

Something just not right about that.

it relatively is a adverse false impression in our society to honor the life of somebody whilst they're not extra. there is not any "musician appreciation" day on the calender in line with annum and subsequently there is in no way any occasion to honor them till we are compelled to renowned their deaths. We procrastinate and placed issues off till the final 2d till we comprehend there is not any going back, then we record out each and all the main contributions that we a technique or the different forgot to point 10 years previously. that's neither admire or honor. it relatively is a tragic IOU given with the help of the final public. you're precise. we are detached to the sacrifices of elementary human beings exterior of our lives. And we ignore the meaning of that word. Sacrifice. No drugs or booze in there. in basic terms those with enormous hearts. i'm bored with folk seeing those evanescent celebrities as something to sob over. I remember whilst Dio died. hi Yahoo? there replaced into no article you published up stating his surprising musical achievements. in straightforward terms a rapid blurb. because of fact he replaced right into a physically powerful guy who died of maximum cancers extremely than an OD like those Amy Winehouses? seems that the final public is extra overjoyed whilst human beings willingly permit their very own lives loosen from their hands. MA2: With the upward push of marketplace and technologies. No chivalry or code of honor now. MA3: we decide for to observe others be afflicted by their very own blunders. organic deaths do no longer look to stimulate us as lots when you consider that they might take place to us too. back, we chortle at each thing that may no longer our subject BA: that's somewhat unhappy yet i don't know any. based on the factors of our society at present, any artist who in my opinion gave up a blossoming profession for a larger reason has in all probability been swept from the popular public radar already. Yeah, we are a tragic unfeeling human beings. BA2: No. yet having stated that, i'm somewhat callous and uncaring too in case you need to no longer tell. celebrity gossip makes me decide for to claw my eyes out. the shown fact that magazines actual make money off of this truly places me in a volatile rage so I do my terrific to no longer think of roughly it.

no one is going to care for eachother in this world, so we all must take care of ourselves. we can't make the celebraties pay for charity, but on the other hand, your right. they should help out too if they wanted to help the poor so much
