...ie, a 6 foot tall 17 year old thug today got 2 1/2 years. Yes, 2 1/2 years, for punching and killing a 5 foot 1 man who had the nerve to confront him when he was vandalising his car - then what is wrong with a bit of vigilante justice? A convicted murderer, paedophile, rapist who gets let out after a pathetic sentence is strung up on a lampost with sign around his neck telling the world what he is, and why he's hanging there. Will the powers that be sit up and listen then? One day this will happen, and no one will be able to say "Oh, I didnt think it would come to this".

Foghorn. Please note, the question said "A CONVICTED murderer, paedophile, rapist who gets let out after a pathetic sentence..." Not "someone who is suspected of being........ without any evidence." Also, the Paedophile/Paediatrician story is an urban myth.

Absolutely. The legal system in the United Kingdom has crashed. Every time someone is murdered, I think "is that all a human life is worth: 2 years?".
It must be horrific for the family of the deceased. I remember seeing my great-grandmother in a Chapel of rest and it is tragic and upsetting. That is the worst and most upsetting thing I have ever seen, knowing that she died in horrific pain.

You are worse than the thug. Vigilante action is trial without jury, trial without proof. You are seeking to legitimise thuggery!

Some time ago, a distinguished paediatrician was lynched in his own home by a mob of clots who mistook this dedicated doctor who specialises in the diagnosis of childrens diseases for a paedophile, purely because of the suffix 'paed' - a word that indicates children, not the abuse thereof.

It would do you better to learn a bit about sentencing powers, the laws of Evidence, and the powers of the Courts in respect of Youth Trials, than to incite others to break the law (itself, a criminal offence of some seriousness). So, Mr Lyncher, you've just broken the law. Shall we come around to your place and lynch you?

Vote for a political party that supports your view (or as near as possible). If you are outvoted, and another party wins - tough, that's democracy for you.

Or you could go to Iraq. Many people there are keen or your kind of justice it seems.

well they can't lock them up for more than 2 years, they need the prison space for people who don't pay their council tax.
